A Sri Lankan Buddhist blows a trumpet on the last day of the Sinhala year at a Buddhist temple, in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The Sinhala and the Tamil New Year falls on April 14 this year. New Year's Eve and New Year's Day are among the most celebrated holidays on the island.
